The just-opened New St. Clair Restaurant has taken an old concept and made it new again. St. Clair Restaurant, established in 1920, was a dated diner complete with dark wood paneling and stuffed swordfish in nets along the walls. Open for nearly eighty years, it finally closed its doors, only to be opened again as The New St. Clair Restaurant by its new co-owners, Louis Stogianos and Spiro Katehis.
The New St. Clair Restaurant is an updated diner, preserving the memory of the old restaurant while at the same time introducing a newly inspired menu and a modern interior. The extensive menu includes classic diner breakfast items, tasty sandwiches and wraps, a complete list of salads and healthier fare, burgers, Greek inspirations, grill items, and much, much more! Fountain sodas and milkshakes are also available, as is a kids’ menu for the little ones.
Greek Frittata—Fresh spinach, tomato, mushrooms and feta cheese
Popeye Salad “All The Way”—Mounds of fresh spinach leaves topped with crumbled bacon, sliced egg, tomato, marinated artichoke hearts and mushrooms, finished with seasoned croutons, topped with grilled chicken breast
Chicken Souvlaki—Grilled marinated chicken breast chunks on pita bread, served with Greek salad and French fries
Marinated Lamb Shish Kebob—With peppers, onions, tomatoes and mushrooms, served over rice
Sicilian Wrap—Grilled chicken with eggplant, onions, tomatoes, mozzarella and marinara sauce; served with French fries, coleslaw and a pickle
Southern Fried Chicken—Served with potato, vegetable and soup or salad
There is nothing @ atlantic and columbia other than the bqe, a park, and a boat terminal. someone should fix the listing,

I ordered last night. They forgot the bacon. Unforgivable.

I ordered a gyro platter and it was the furthest thing from what I was expecting. Pre made per frozen beef. :/. Must do better. Good service and good fries though!

I love their spaghetti and meatballs, and recently ordered the moussaka which was delicious. Everything always comes very well packaged. Huge, delicious portions. This is my go-to spot for comfort food!

Sigh. I just wish there was a better diner option. Standard "meh" diner fare. Prompt delivery, and they always get our orders right. Sometimes my kids just want a diner grilled cheese.

food is fine.

you know when you are SO excited for your meal, and you give very clear instructions on seamless to find they are completely ignored? i asked for my coffee black (came with cream and sugar), and asked for my bagel dry with cream cheese on the side (came with a HUGE pat of butter right on the bagel, no cream cheese at all). i NEVER submit reviews but these guys caught me on the wrong day at the wrong time!!!!! read your damn orders, it's your only job. #FAIL

Used them for ages, they got a coffee wrong, no biggie, the attitude got when I called was though. Time to try another place. I choosed to use them, I now choose not to. Masters of thier own desasters.

All special instructions were followed, order was hot and packaged perfectly. Food was delivered in 30 min, and everything was delicious.

If you're going to charge an additional $2.50 for each dish when substituting salad for potatoes - you should call and ask...in general, a good rule of thumb is calling before charging extra instead of sending and assuming payment.

Quick delivery and good food. My husband loves the burger and I get the gyro, they are both delicious! I also like the coleslaw and pickle it comes with, nice touch!

used to be spectacular- now not so much

The food is pretty good for diner food, but beware. They will screw up your order and they will argue with you about fixing it.

Do not order from here if you want to get what you ordered or be treated respectfully if you call them with an issue. The delivery guys don't read the Special Instructions and often get lost. When I called to ask what the issue was and complain that this happens frequently the Manager said - then please don't order from us and hung up on me. If Seamless wants to have partners that respect the customer, I'd suggest dropping this restaurant ASAP.

We ordered a bacon cheese burger, and only received a burger. We called back and they said the kitchen was closed so they would just credit us for the price of a regular burger. They never did.

I used to like ordering waffles from this place, but now for the second time my Tropical Belgian Waffles came incomplete in ingredients and the whipped cream made it all in a blab... Don't ever crave my meal anymore.
Also arrived later than promised.
This place has always five stars from me till now. I wont order again.

I ordered a burger and soda. Soda was flat, burger had no condiments on it even though I requested. Won't order from here again.

It had been a long time since I'd ordered from New St. Clair and after my most recent experience, I will never order from them again. Not only did they forget one out of three breakfast items I'd ordered, but they also failed to provide jam as requested and failed to provide more than one packet of ketchup. If the failures of packing my order weren't enough, their delivery was over 15 minutes late at a time when I was hurrying to leave my office, they tried to blame me for the lateness even though I spent quite a bit of time downstairs waiting for the delivery guy who I'd been told was already there. Then, to top it all off, when I called to complain about the delivery problems and the missing breakfast sandwich, they told me that I could either come to the restaurant to pick up my refund or come to the restaurant to pick up the missing sandwich! Their delivery and customer service is atrocious. The food itself was not worth the effort, as the "toasted" bagel was soggy and the remaining breakfast sandwich was both cold and soggy. Never, ever again.

New St. Claire is the best diner food I've had so far in NYC. Everything I've had on their menu is great. Their Lox omlette is fantastic. And their Bruschetta is out of this world. Also, the popeye salad is great.

Not bad, food arrived quickly and was still nice and warm. Nothing special.

Thought the chicken tenders were delicious, the stuffed potato shells were the greasiest items I've ever eaten. The waffle fries were average.
Oh, St. Clair, how I wish you were a decent place. Sadly, this diner cannot do even diner food decently. I've been here a couple of times, since I live nearby, but they can't even turn out decent scrambled eggs, much less anything more complicated. I hope they get new management/staff, because they could really clean up in this location.

my weekend brunch staple. everything's quality and they get the order right ever single time (which is apparently rare among these restaurants for some reason)

Food was ok. Drink came in a plastic cup that was half empty due to leaking throughout the bag and over everything making it all soggy. Additional surcharge items I ordered were not added either. Disappointing serivce, but overall food was ok.

Serviceable. And ultimately, a disappointment.

Not sure if this is an offshoot of "The Old St. Clair," but if there's another restaurant that this one took its name from, it should be avoided, too.
I ordered delivery and the food arrived on time, but the eggs were disgustingly soggy, the bagel was soaked through with butter, the potatoes were dry and the soda tasted like nail polish remover.
Thanks for nothing, New St. Clair.

Poems should be written about how good the roast beef sandwich is. Shockingly good.
The chicken salad, not as much. But the smoothie is also quite good.
Been dreaming of that roast beef ever since...

Granola was decent; very large.

Arrived hot. Good-sized portion. Plenty of ricotta in the lasagne, decent amount of meat, but shy on the sauce -- a little too dry for my tastes. Good freah salad, slightly overcooked baby carrots and peas served around lasagne.

something inedible was included in my food order. . . won't order again.

Disappointed with the food. We requested wheat bread for our grilled cheese but received the sandwich with white bread.
Also there were cucumbers on our wrap (which i am allergic to) that seemed to be a different wrap completely than the one we ordered.

Delivery is superfast, like 10 minutes or less. The food is really good diner food, although you might want to ask for extra condiments, they're stingy on the syrup, jelly, etc.

Our favorite diner by far!
Posted 4 years ago by Todd S.
If I could rate it a 3.5 I would!
The portion was pretty large. The fries were a bit soggy and tasteless, but I'm assuming thats just because it was in a shut container and the steam made it soggy by the time it was delivered. It took about 20 minutes, give or take a few.
Had the Gyro Platter. Side salad was huge and delicious, cheese was fresh, and tomatoes were juicy and ripe. Gyro itself was OKAY at best, lacked any lettuce / tomatoes, etc, but the taziki sauce was yummy.
I'll be ordering from them again, and favorited the Gyro Platter for next time.
